National Sorry Day is a day to remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as 'The Stolen Generations'.
On National Sorry Day we acknowledge and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and our nation.
The native hibiscus flower was chosen, as it continues to resiliently grow widely across Australia and the colour symbolises compassion and spiritual healing.
Our students mindfully decorated their own purple hibiscus flower and respectfully observed the significance of Sorry Day.
