Our Year 5 and Year 6 students encountered a frosty start in Ballarat, where they embraced the role as ‘Change Detectives’. Everyone was treated to a visual display of experiments by Earth Ed staff, Fiona and Jess.
Students explored the states of matter with the help of liquid nitrogen and were treated to a stunning demonstration of elephant’s toothpaste. In a hands on manner, students conducted various experiments, becoming forensic scientists, looking for the ‘evidence’ of a break in.
Following this, students visited the Eureka Centre and had a guided tour of the facility, where they learnt about the Eureka Stockade and viewed the flag.
Thank you to Mr Rock, Mr Dwyer, Mrs McMahon, Mrs Bellman, Lewis and Emma for making the trip possible.
